The Lorraine is a Coin Ring that was invented and handmade by Chesley Jewelry's Designer and Jeweler, O'Bryan Chesley.  The Lorraine is made from the center punch of a Morgan Silver Dollar, and it is 90% Silver.  The Lorraine is a special piece of jewelry because it can be customized with birthstones.  This makes The Lorraine a very unique piece of handmade jewelry.

The Invention of "The Lorraine" Coin Ring

O'Bryan thought that he might be able to get another ring out of the center punch of The Morgan Silver Dollar Coin.  The Morgan Silver Dollar Coin is such a big coin that the center punch leaves a nice-sized piece to either make another ring, like the Lorraine, or to make a Medallion for a necklace.
 
First, he makes a coin ring out of the center punch of a Morgan Silver Dollar.  Then, he sands, files, shapes and polishes the ring into a silver band.  Once the ring is shaped into a band, it is lazer engraved to mark it for Gemstone placement.  Then, the Gemstones are handset by flush setting them into the ring.  

Since, "The Lorraine," was invented by O'Bryan, he decided to give it a name.  In doing so, he decided to name this handmade ring after his wife, Heidi "Lorraine" Chesley.  Heidi was named after her mother's favorite aunt, Lorraine Bowman. Lorraine Bowman died in a car accident in the 1969.  She was the Head of Music Department at East High School when she passed away.
